Infectious diseases are a branch of medicine dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases caused by microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites. In addition, infectious disease specialists deal with the diagnosis and treatment of epidemic, pandemic and tropical diseases.
